Shedding blood to be forgiven

Why would an all-powerful omnipotent God, who is perfect in love, need the shedding of innocent blood to forgive sin? God doesn't love you enough to forgive you when you repent. He needs a second bad act, murdering an innocent, to forgive a previous bad act. Really?

That's what Paul taught based on his education as a pharisee and his personal visions he claims were from Jesus. But Jesus clearly taught God forgives you when you choose to repent and turn your heart to him.

Between all four Gospels, there's not a single clear statement from Jesus to support Paul's teachings that Jesus died as a blood atonement sacrifice for our sins to fulfill the Old Testament sacrifice system he had been taught his whole life as a pharisee

People will point to a couple of ambiguous statements from Jesus being a ransom for many, and one sentence in Matthew where Jesus allegedly says, This is the blood of my covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins

If fulfilling the blood sacrifice system of the Old Testament by dying on the cross for your sins was truly Jesus's main purpose for incarnating on Earth, as Paul claims, don't you think Jesus might have thought to teach this to his followers at some point?

Instead, his teachings say God doesn't need blood sacrifice to forgive sin. In the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector, Jesus clearly says the tax collector was forgiven because of his humble and repentant heart, saying, 'This man went down to his house justified.

  • The prodigal son was forgiven and accepted back when he returned to the Father, saying, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.
  • About the sinful woman who anointed his feet, Jesus said, Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much, But he who is forgiven little, loves little.
  • The paralytic man was forgiven when he took action to demonstrate his faith.
  • In the parable of the unforgiving servant, the King forgave the servant's debt when he asked, but only until he refused to show mercy to another. The Lord's prayer also says, Forgive us our debts, as we have also forgiven our debtors..
Do any of these examples in the Gospels involve any requirement for blood sacrifice? No. They were forgiven when they repented, loved much, showed mercy.
and demonstrated faith through action. But Paul claims Jesus appeared to him in visions to reveal to him alone the mystery of why Jesus didn't mean what he said.

Ezekiel 18:20 in the Bible states that "The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son".

The verse establishes individual accountability for sin, emphasizing that each person is responsible for their own actions and will face the consequences.
